About Saerwen

Hello I am a hobbit and I have red hair, blues eyes and lots of wonderful friends. :)

A Day in Hobbiton #57

Dear friends of the earthen realm, greetings and salutations!

Did you here that Sir Peter Jackson is back in middle earth? He is quite a nice man.  Unfortunately in the history he is telling though, we are not born yet.  But don’t worry Legolas is going to be in it.  He is born.

Anyway, Merry and Pip came over this afternoon in a big rush and gave me sixteen tomatoes, six potatoes, seven cabbage, and a bag of mushrooms then quickly and left me holding the bag. Pardon the pun.  Anyway, not a minute had passed when Farmer Magot knocked on the door, and since I am not thick in the head, I was wise enough not to answer it, but my Mum didn’t know about the “drop off” and answered it.  Lets just say she and I were both educated on the fine art of cussing when he saw me holding the cabbage.  Mum said that he is quite a vulgar farmer to his face, then we had another ten minute class, until I grabbed the broom and Mum and I beat him out the door, throwing (to Merry and Pippin’s great disappointment) the food out after him.

So as you can see, he had quite a doozy of an afternoon.  I am teaching my younger sister Flora how to sew, I must say she is born to do it.  Her little fingers are getting quite used the our rather large needles. I am also teaching Gimli and Legolas, who stop by a lot, how to grow mint and parsley.  Legolas catches on quickly but Gimli’s keeps dying.  He says he has a grey thumb for rocks, not a green one for plants.  Legolas and I both agree.

Faramir stopped by on one of his journeys around Middle Earth for a day.  It was good to see him again. He has three children now, and his wife is doing great.  He says that Arwen is doing great to, and is learning to talk a bit more loudly for the sake of the terrible acoustics in Gondor.

   Farewell my friends until later,

Saerwen

A Day in Hobbiton #56

Well Halo, halo, halo one and all!   I just have a bit of news to tell you in this post. : )

I just celebrated my fifteenth birthday yesterday!! Whoohoo!! I am still a child in hobbit years though.

Anyway…I had a wonderful time!  Pippin and Merry decided to try to make some fireworks for me, very sweet thought I must say but…it didn’t turn out the way they planned.   It kind of exploded before it shot up, and we had a little difficulty putting out the fire, but other than that it was a swell time.

Legolas, Saraleen, and Gimli showed up for the festivities as a surprise for me!  They are so sweet!  I also have some special news about Saraleen…you probably already guessed by now, but she is expecting a baby! : )  She is very happy and I think Legolas is too, but he always looks a bit dazed when the subject popped up.  : )

It seems that I may be going back to Gondor for a two-week vacation!!  My Dad and Mum said they think it is a wonderful idea!  But I think Gimli has something in mind because he kept chuckling and he wouldn’t look Dad or Mum in the eye. : )

    Farewell,

    Saerwen

A Day in Hobbiton #55

I feel like I have not posted in a millennium!  I apologize very deeply for that!  It has been very busy, and I have some very special news for you.  We just received an email from Gandalf. It seems he wanted to catch up with us in technology so he ordered one. 🙂  It took a long time to get to him though.

Anyway, it seems that all is well in the land of the Elves.  Frodo is doing exceptionally well, and Bilbo is having the time of his life writing stories and hanging out with Galadriel.

Merry and Pippin are getting in to Farmer Magots crop again.  Last week they took ten tomatoes, three heads of lettuce, four mushrooms, and a tankard of ale. They are getting greedy.

Gimli and Legolas stopped by last week to see how we were doing, and Gimli and I had a drinking contest (please don’t tell my Mum) and he won, he was the last one standing before he passed out.  I think I had about eight pints of that stuff.

Everything is very peaceful in Hobbiton right now, nothing out of the ordinary.

We have been getting regular reports from King Aragorn and General Faramir about orks that keep popping up, and new birth places of Uruk-Hai, which the orks found.  So they are definitely keeping busy.

I must admit to you all that I am getting a bit restless, I want another adventure.  I must be related to Bilbo.

     Til’ I write again,

    Saerwen

Finishing the last story before the last post :) A Day in Hobbiton #54

Pippin: Oh…oh…*almosts faints*

Me:  Oh…oh…*does faint*

Legolas:  *springs in with his bow and arrow*

Saraleen:  *does the same*

Gimli:  *charges and dispatches three*

Merry:  *picks up rocks and starts pitching them*

Pippin:  *joins in*

Me: *trying desperately to wake up*

Suddenly there was a really loud noise, not I don’t know if you now what a trumpet sounds like (You know…like the war trumpets)  but this one was at least three times louder than a normal one.  We all (including the Urak-hai) look around, then Faramir and his men  (bless them all) jump in and start fighting, and is only  a matter of minutes before the Urak-hai run off or either are…you know.  I just wanted to go over and kiss Faramir’s feet, Pip would have if Merry hadn’t stopped him.  We all bowed instead and there was a lot of thanking, not to mention hand clasping and hugging.

Faramir:  One  of my scouts told me you were about to be ambushed.

Legolas: We are forever in his and yours debt.

Faramir: You can repay us by coming back with us to Gondor, Aragorn would be most pleased to see you agin.

Legolas and Saraleen together:  That sounds most welcome.

Gimli: It most certainly does, he has better Ale then the dwarves do.

Me:  Oh soft beds…*happy sigh*

Pippin: …I like both those things.

After all that had happened we headed back to Gondor.  You can just imagine the Welcome we got. 🙂

I had better leave my headtop now, it needs to rest. So do my fingers. 🙂

Farewell,
Saerwen

Pippin’s Pictures

Here are some new pictures by Pip.

The first one, Gandalf didn’t know Pip was taking the picture or he would have been looking at the Magic Box thingy instead.

The second one is rather neat don’t you think, I am pretty sure Aragorn took that one though.

Farewell,

Saerwen

Unfortunate Circumstances

Hello one and all!

I have some news.  My headtop is falling apart right now *groans* and I cannot get it fixed for quite sometime.  There is a lack of computer geeks in middle earth.  So I will only be able to post when it is working, but don’t worry, I will finish what happened to me in the last post soon. 🙂

Farewell,
Saerwen

A Day in Hobbiton #53

Hello everyone, I am back.  Well there is so much to tell…but first I must say…I have the best friends in the world REALLY!  Without them I would not be doing this post because…I got captured and taken into the Uruk-hai’s new hide out!    Well…I better stop from the beginning so you do not get confused.

After I had to leave my head top back here, we walked around…welllllll…a few hours of walking, Saraleen and Legolas began to look nervous and Gimli had his axe out.

Pippin:  What is going on Saerwen?

Me:  I don’t know…do you think we are being followed again?

Merry: I doubt that…I mean, we scared those Orks silly!

Pippin: Yes, but what if they…got stronger!?

Merry: In two days Pippin?

Pippin: You don’t know that Merry, there could be more…all over the place!

Merry: …There is that…

Me: You fellows are scaring me.

Saraleen: *holds up finger to her lips*  Shhhhhhh…

Pippin, Merry, and Me:  *stand stock still*

Gimli: *looks sideways*

Legolas: We are being followed.

Saraleen:  We all guessed that.

Legolas:  I did not know if the Hobbits knew.

Merry: We guessed it.

Saraleen: *nodes her head*

Pippin:  What are we going to do?

Legolas: Fight, there is nothing else to do.

Saerwen:  What is following us?

Saraleen: …Urak-hai.

All hobbits: *suck in breath*

Gimli:  Well they are soon to get a taste of my axe.

Pippin: That would taste awful, you never clean it!

Gimli: Shut up!  And be quiet.

Pippin: I am sorry.

Gimli: Just…be quiet.

Urak-hai (hidden from view): If you just give up…I promise no harm will come to any of you.

Legolas:  I apologize for sounding blunt, but I don’t believe you.

Urak-hai (still hidden): I can understand that but you happen to be in out territory.

Suddenly we were surrounded by at least a hundred Urak-hai.

To be continued ->

A Day in Hobbiton #52

Okay, I think I will start right after the last post, just so you don’t miss anything.   Well after my…um…capture and stuff, Legolas started looking a little big worried, and so did Saraleen and  if an elf looks worried…*shudders*  He started making us all walk faster saying stuff like,  “An odor rises for the east” and weird stuff like that. Finally after about an hour of pleading “What is going on!!”  he finally said that Urukahi are following us now.  And I thought they were all dead, well that is what we came for, to see just how many *grimace* orks and *shudder* Urukahi were left.  I lot I guess, I suppose that they just don’t dare venture any farther than here.   But anyway back to the story…

We stopped to make camp…oh…around three hours after my regular sleep time so I was…in your human terms, quite Pooped. 🙂  Gimli kept saying that they (Legolas and Saraleen) were just imagining and that they needed more sleep and maybe a couple good whacks on the head, after this insult Legolas and Gimli got into a friendly game of words.  This took them about ah…fifteen minutes to resolve.  Saraleen told us hobbits that we should be out of the Marshes in a couple of days, so that is a rather heavy weight off of my mind. 🙂  After we slept for two hours (that is what if felt like but it was three) we got up and walked again.  And after we ate breakfast walking I heard thuds, squish’es, yelling, and I am pretty sure some cursing as one of the Urukahi fell in the water (May he rest in Peace…if he can)  and not to your surprise we started running as fast as we could, Legolas expertly running backwards carrying Merry and shooting arrows, Gimli was huphing and puffing and Saraleen was carrying us (meaning Pip and me).  After that when we had to stop or you know…end up dying of exhaustion anyway, and I must say Saraleen, Gimli and Legolas were in the best form because they…the Urukahi, were…welllll…to put it blankly dead plain d-e-a-d.  There was around twenty of them and a couple of orcs.  And after that…stimulating…episode in my story, I must go, or Gimli  will never forgive me, he got slightly hurt in the fight, an Urukahi hit him with his axe thingy on his arm, thankfully it didn’t go deep, but we hobbits have a good herbal medicine for cuts, even better than the elves remedy for it Saraleen said. 🙂

Farewell,

Saerwen the exhausted.
